Welcome to the Best Team in Water Irrigation Systems

About Us

Business owner Ashley Proctor has worked for some of the major companies in the irrigation service, installation and design industries.

Irrigation and Water offer a professional service, with the focus on quality installation and customer satisfaction.

Ashley has brought together a team of highly skilled personnel to provide this: Derek Waller looks after Pump Engineering. His knowledge and expertise span over many years. With specific skills in unusual pumping problems, boreholes and comprehensive technical assistance, Derek provides an unrivalled service to new and existing customers alike.

The installation and service team is headed by Kevin Cooper and Andy Soanes - both committed to providing top quality service and supply. Experienced in all aspects of pumping and irrigation, they are skilled at problem solving and ensure that each job gets completed on time and, importantly, on budget.

The Irrigation and Water team can design, install, repair or service almost any type of project within the irrigation and water engineering market - at a competitive price and to the customer's complete satisfaction.

Sprinkler systems for the garden or farm - we have you covered

Golf & Sports

Most UK golf courses and major sports facilities have an irrigation scheme. Many may only be only used for part of the year, but when needed have to work effectively.

Any irrigation system should operate efficiently - assisting maintenance regimes, playability and aesthetics

Some original systems are now very old and as things wear out problems occur - burst pipes, tired sprinklers, control systems failing. We offer professional solutions to failing or ageing systems.

A site visit assesses the extent of the problem, and following that our design team are able to propose solutions for repair, upgrade or replacement.

Landscape Irrigation

These days, we are bombarded with TV programmes about designing and gardens and landscape projects. Almost every day, someone seems to be 'making over' or designing a garden or landscape area. We have high expectations of what our own gardens and outdoor space should be like.

We visit the garden centre and buy a specimen tree or shrub, or expensive turf. Buying larger plants gives us the effect of mature planting faster - and everyone would like an instant, perfect lawn.

Horticulture

Horticultural Irrigation was where most UK irrigation companies started out. Following a boom period in the 70s and 80s, commercial horticulture suffered a decline due to growing imports from countries where the weather is more adapted to this market, and costs per unit were significantly lower.

Today, once again, commercial horticulture is a more viable business, although much more scientifically and technically focused in its delivery than before. Efficiency is the key, and an accurate irrigation system is an integral part of producing a high quality end-product.

Livestock

Supplying water systems for livestock in more remote areas of the UK brings its own particular challenges. Outdoor reared pigs...ducks...cattle or horses - the availability of a suitable water supply, especially from an existing source, can mean hundreds of meters of supply pipe; crossing roads, ditches, hedges and public rights of way.

Irrigation and Water design and supply specialist livestock drinking systems for outdoor livestock, and ensure that any pipework is large enough to provide the correct pressure and flow.

We also look at alternative water supplies from rivers, boreholes and rainwater harvesting - and if required, specifying the correct pumping equipment for the job.

Floating Fountains

A healthy pond stays clean naturally. Ponds are individual eco-systems with foodchains of organisms, from simple single-cell bacteria, assimilating incoming nutrients.

Ideally, the system works naturally, without a pond aeration system to improve pond water quality.

Maintaining a balanced eco-system, until too many nutrients suppress it's ability to deal with them. When this happens, the high nutrient levels mean algae and other unattractive plant life flourish.

Algae turns a pond green, and floating algae mats form fast. Weeds interfere with swimming, boating and fishing.

Ponds with little movement can develop algae build-up, foul odours and weeds; the perfect environment for mosquito breeding.

Drip Irrigation Systems

Targeted and highly efficient local irrigation of crops, trees and plants through pipes located in the root zones of large planting areas, delivering water, one drop at a time, to only the places that need it.

Studies have shown that around 30-50% less water is used through a well-designed drip feed system than standard sprinkler irrigation.

A slow and steady drip feed enables water to seep slowly into the ground, minimising loss through runoff and evaporation.

A consistent supply of water means plants grow more quickly and are more productive as they are not affected by water stress. We offer a number of drip irrigation systems, designed to meet the needs of both commercial operations such as orchards or poly tunnels or smaller scale, domestic arrangements.

Water Feature Systems

Enhance the look of your pond and help to keep it healthy by using a water feature such as a fountain.

Visually, a fountain enhances the look and design but it also assists with the circulation and aeration of water, boosting the oxygen, reducing weed build up and minimises the opportunity for unsightly algae to grow and discolour the pond.

Increased aeration promotes a healthy and balanced ecosystem for fish and pondlife and can help reduce the numbers of mosquitos and midges.

On a more commercial scale, subsurface or surface aeration equipment for larger ponds, lakes or fish farms improve the water quality, boost oxygen levels and reduce weed build up.

Some aeration systems are more appropriate than others, depending on the application and we assess individual needs before proposing the best solution for your project.
