Chicken farm, Ely, Cambridgeshire
As part of the Farm assured agreement many poultry farms are now required to have a certain amount of stored water should their main water supply fail. This was the case on a poutry farm in Ely who approached Irrigation and Water to put a proposal together to meet the current regulations and it was proposed that a polyethylene tank with a holding capacity of 2500 litres would be suffient. A twin pump set comprising of Lowara Horizontal pumps, 300 litre pressure vessels, pressure switchs and gauges where installed and set on a duty / assist basis. A wooden shed was also supplied and installed on a reinforced concrete base, with heating, lighting and ventilation with float switches within the storage tanks to protect the pumps and raise an alarm if a low water situation should occur.
How can we help?
From initial contact through to completion of installation of a 100ft borehole for garden and domestic use, couldn't fault the service from Ashley, Derek and Andy the engineer. Now got an excellent scheme for our 1 acre garden and also serves hot and grey water in the house. The first pump was too beefy at 20 gallons/min so down-rated to 8 gallons/min and added a UV clarifier to the buffer tank. A very neat installation. Roll on the hot weather next year!!Private Client - Woodton, Norfolk
